Mr. L. G. S. Perera

Mr. Perera is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA). He is also a Fellow Member of the institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (FSCMA) and Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia (CMA). He has also completed the examinations of the Institute of Internal Auditors, USA.
Mr. Perera commenced his career at one of the leading Sri Lankan audit firms being made a Partner in 1983 subsequent to completing the ICASL examinations at which he was awarded several prizes including the First in- Order of Merit (top of batch) prize. He has an overall experience of over thirty years in external and internal auditing, financial management, financial consultancy and general management in leading organizations in Sri Lanka and abroad including several years in a leading Swiss based multinational Company while serving in Saudi Arabia. He was the Chief Executive Officer of International Distillers Limited in the alcoholic beverage industry for a period of 8 years. In addition Mr. Perera was the General Manager - Finance at Agalawatta Plantations PLC and the Chief Operating Officer of Millers Brewery Limited (Cargills Group). He also functioned at the Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Credit and Finance PLC.
He was a member of the Council of the Employees’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) from October 2008 to February 2010 and was the founder Chairman of EFC’s Employees’ Network on Disability.

Mr. Egodage joined the Board of Trade Finance & Investments PLC in December 2014 consequent to the acquisition of shares of the Company by Commercial Credit and Finance PLC which is the ultimate parent of the Company.

He took over the reins of Commercial Credit in October 2009 following the takeover of the Company by BG Investments (Private) Limited and joined the Board of Commercial Credit in March 2011. As Chief Executive Officer, he has been the driving force behind the Company’s stellar success, charting a visionary course of leadership and growth.

His success as a corporate strategist is due in part to his multidisciplinary approach gleaned through high level exposure to diverse industries such as engineering, manufacturing, plantations and finance.

Prior to taking over the stewardship of Commercial Credit, Mr Egodage held several senior management positions in the finance industry. He was appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Director of The Finance Company PLC in 2006 with overall responsibility for its operations, while serving on the Boards of several group companies at the same time.

Mr. Egodage has previously been Deputy Manager – Corporate Finance of Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka, where he was instrumental in restructuring the plantations sector; General Manager – Finance, Planning and Administration at Kotagala Plantations PLC and General Manager – Projects and Planning at Agalawatte Plantations PLC. He also held key positions of responsibility in companies including Peoples Ventures and Ceylon Pencil Company and he currently serves on the Boards of BG Investments (Private) Limited, BG Capital (Private) Limited, BG International (Private) Limited, BG Microfinance Myanmar Company Limited, Ceylon Asset Management Company Limited, Cross Border Ventures (Private) Limited, Trade Finance and Investments PLC and R.D.S Bakers (Private) Limited.

Having earned a BSc. Eng. degree from the University of Peradeniya and initially embarking on a career in engineering, he then set his sights on a career in business management, earning an MBA from the University of Colombo. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (FCMA), an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK (ACIM) and an associate member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Sri Lanka (ASCMA).


Mr. Denzil A. Rodrigo (Director) - Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr. Denzil A Rodrigo is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA) and also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCMA). Mr. Rodrigo commenced his career in a reputed firm of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka and was promoted as a partner in 1983. He has over 30 years’ experience in auditing, financial management, financial consultancy, tax consultancy and general management in organizations which include banks and financial institutions in Sri Lanka and abroad. During his working period abroad he served as the Management Accountant and Chief Internal Auditor of a diamond and gold mining Company in West Africa which was managed by British Petroleum of the United Kingdom. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of a Group of Companies in Zambia engaged in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Mining and Hospitality Industries. He is at present the chairman of the Taxation Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. Currently he is the Managing Director of ECI Tax Chambers (Pvt) Ltd which is one of the leading Tax consultancy firms in Sri Lanka.


Mr.L.A.J.F. Morais  (Managing Director/CEO)

Mr.L.A.J.F. Morais
Mr. Morais has been the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Trade Finance and Investments PLC since 1995. He is a Group Director of Capital Alliance.

He has over 35 years experience in accounting, finance, auditing, taxation and treasury management and he is a well known professional in the finance industry. He is a finalist of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Prior to joining TFI in 1995, Mr. Morais served as a Senior Manager at Jetwing Hotels Limited.


Mr. Saman Gunarathne 

Mr. Saman Gunarathne
Mr. Gunarathne is an Independent Consultant in Energy Conservation and Management, and joined the Board of Commercial Credit in August 2009. Mr. Gunaratne has functioned in senior engineering positions in leading companies such as MAS Holdings and Brandix, as well as in the sugar and plantation industries. With over 20 years of experience in the fields of engineering and energy management, he has participated in project teams and forums involved in the construction and commissioning of many mass scale manufacturing facilities for the Plywood and Textile Industries. He holds a National Diploma in Engineering Sciences specializing in Mechanical Engineering. Presently he serves as a Director of Best Cars Lanka (Private) Limited.
